certain academics on this website like to think because they have a blue check they can say whatever they want and people will believe them.

and they hate being called out for lack of receipts.

i’m here to tell you they have books to sell and facts can be … tangential.
when we are experiencing a rapidly developing news story where little is known for certain - and even less has been released publicly by the media - (like say what happened in austin, texas)

i can guarantee that academic researchers do not know more than folks on the ground.
but they are out here showing their whole entire selves saying “XYZ FACT” like they have some sort of god knowledge.

trust me, they do not.

so let them peddle their books to the gullible and always, always verify facts.
there is too much scary stuff happening too quickly to believe some random blue check academic because they say so.

the whole entire point of college should be teaching critical thinking. use those skills. ask questions.
and if they tell you “you can’t ask me questions you are doing twitter wrong” well, on this little corner of the ol’ al gore

you can ignore them. do so and find better sources.
let them talk to the silence that is nobody believing anything they say. don’t follow them. mute is glorious.

and for the love of money, do not buy whatever book they’re peddling.
