All men are misogynist.... but y’all not ready to have this convo.

From the moment men gain the cognitive ability to learn and understand we are taught to hate, mistreat, and devalue women. This is something we learn on all fronts. Family, school, media and of course it's all reinforced by our friends who are learning the same hate
It's passed down like genes. Your great grandfather was a misogynist and he taught your grandfather to be one as well. Then your grandfather taught your father to also not value woman as human beings and now we are on to you the latest recipient of this women hating disease
And I can hear you now. I didn't have a father I was raised by a strong woman. Hate to be the one that tells you this but this system doesn't just teach men to hate and devalue women, it also teaches women to hate themselves and devalue other women.
Don't believe me? How many times gave you hear a woman PROUDLY proclaim she isn't a feminist or watch your mother call a young woman ”fast” or a ”whore”
Misogyny/sexism like racism is a systemic problem
But back to men. Misogyny is ingrained in us, it's all we know but it doesn't HAVE to be all we know. I view misogyny the way most alcoholics view alcoholism ”I’m always an alcoholic but I'm in recovery”. I consider myself a hardcore feminist but I an also a recovering misogynist
But like enough about me. See that’s also misogyny, men making women’s issues about themselves. For example, men, if a woman shares with you a sexual assault experience that’s not the time to get angry & threat to hurt the perpetrator, it’s time to listen because it's not about u
Women ARE people like it feels nuts that I have to say this but they don't want to feel like damsels in distress. Just like anyone, it's painful & embarrassing to be made to feel helpless. Now she has to worry about you going to jail for assault or worst be hurt by her predator
And let's get into the shame that women have to feel about there OWN bodies since idk the moment they could comprehend words. Woman are sexualized and fetishized YEARS before they even hit puberty. They are always pressured to be sexually appealing to men EVERY SINGLE MOMENT
AND THEN THEY FUCKING DO IT, they spend their entire lives becoming sexually appealing for us and what do we do? We RAPE, and we ASSAULT, and we HARASS, and we SHAME them OR
Or or or or GOD FORBID they break free from that oppressive cage and want to feel beautiful and pretty and SEXY FOR THEMSELVES! And what do we do? We RAPE, and we ASSAULT, and we HARASS, and we SHAME them
And then the really sinister part of it and I'm talking really EVIL is that the system has programmed women to not even fight the abuse but to instead blame themselves. We make them think that being sexually harassed/abused is their fault for daring to have a self esteem
And when they have the nerve to speak up or question the abuse and harassment we gaslight them, we tell them ”well you did want all that attention”, we ask them ”well what were you wearing”, we protect the abusers ”well he was pretty drunk too”
Almost every woman I've ever cared for was sexually abused and to the men reading this if you had the balls to ask the women in your life you would be horrified by how many of them have been threats like sub-human.
This shit stops with me. If sexist and misogyny are learned on ever front then I will make sure my sons unlearn in from this front. I will make sure my daughters love and value themselves. Every time I see misogyny I will use my privilege to fight it
AND IF YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THIS MY HANDS WORK DOUBLE SHIFTS AT SLAM-A-HOE INCORPORATED
But I'll end with this to all the women out there this is for you. I pray this helped ease your burden or at least made u feel heard. I never want to speak for women so if im off check me. But as a black man ik how powerful it is to have someone with privilege voice your struggle
