Some Bengali Sanghis are trying to say that Bengali culture is Hindu culture and Muslim culture is invading culture. This thread is to establish that if there were no Muslims - Bengali itself would not exist.

There were no major literary works in Bengal before Buddhist Pal era as precursors of Bengali Language were considered as Poisachi Bhasha (Language of Ghouls) and translating any scripture in Bengali was punishable for Rourab Hell.

First Bengali Literature was Charyapad done by Buddhist Mystics. Sandhyakar Nandi version of Ramayana and Ram Pal romance was written in this era.

Ziauddin Barni first recorded the zone as Bangalah. Shamsuddin Ilias Shah first claimed to be a ruler of Bengal in 1352.

Mahavangshaboli was written in patronage of Abyssinian ruler Jalaluddin Fateh Shah.

Shamsuddin Ilias Shah sponsored Maladhar Bose to write Shrikrishna Kirtan.

Paragal Khan requested Kabindra Parameshwar to translate Mahabharata so concise it could be heard in a single day.

In rule of Hussain Shah, Manasa Mangal was written by Vijay Gupta. In his tenure Vidyasagar Kahini was also written. He also sponsored Rup Goswami.

Nasiruddin Nasrat Shah commissioned translation of Ashwamedh Parva of Mahabharata. He also commissioned Poet Vidyapati and to write Boishnab Padaboli.

Chaitanya Bhagvat was written during rule of Giyasuddin Mahmud Shah.

Several Hindu poet got titles like Satya Raj Khan and Guna Raj Khan. Muslim poets of Arakan wrote first secular or non-religious literature in Chittagong.

Still Dr Sukumar Sen described such literature as Islamic just only these were done by Muslims.

Syed Sultan wrote Dharmamangal.

Chhuti Khan sponsored Shrikar Nandi.

There have been 102 Muslim poets recorded to write Boishnab Padaboli.

Christian poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt translated Ramayana as Meghnad Vadh Kabya, which is only epicling of Bengali Literature.

Only epic of Bengali Language is Mahashmashan by Kaykowad. Kazi

Nazrul Islam wrote Shyamasangeets along with Islamic naat and communist Songs.

A huge number of English era Bengali litterateurs like Rabindranath Tagore, Sukumar Ray, Satyajit Ray, Jibananda Dash were from Brahma Samaj, a monotheist anti-idolatery society.

Many non-Muslim poets paid tribute to Muslim rulers too. Bhai Girishchandra Sen was first person to complete translation of Quran in Bengali, before him Amiruddin Basunia tried but couldn't finish.

There several more examples of inter-faith harmony in Bengali Literature.
