Before I start this thread I just wanna say y’all should keep supporting the local businesses within The Collective. Most of them disagree w how TC is responding during the pandemic but they can’t do anything since they’re renting the space & their concerns are ignored.
At the ending of May all employees wore masks but once June came around ALL TC employees took theirs off.
They’re not to blame as they were being forced to serve/seat people outside in 100 degree weather.
An employee came up to me and said, “Are y’all still required to wear masks?” I said, “no, but i’m scared to not wear one.” They then told me they felt the same way but they’re outside and couldn’t breathe so they decided to just take it off.
Fast forward to June 11th when an employee came back positive for COVID. Many employees found out through social media that someone tested positive and then we received an email with the confirmation. Their reason for not speaking out sooner was, “that employee isn’t reliable” 🤥
I posted a screenshot of the email and IMMEDIATELY was told to delete it. I argued that this should be public knowledge since they weren’t confirming this to the public. They eventually replied to @vanrdgz tweet & I told them they should post this on all of their social media—
as not many people have twitter. Hours later they finally did but made it insanely hard to find the information on their website. I was definitely heated & sent an email to TC about how wrong they were for this and it’s obvious they care about $ more than the safety of others.
Then, Okie Pokie had someone test positive. They kept this lowkey and told no one why they were closed. Okie Pokie never released a statement and neither did TC. They never even sent an email to let us know. The owner of Okie Pokie just came up to us & said they had to tell us.
When the 1st employee tested positive they started temping everyone coming in. It’s a false sense of security. The employee who was positive & working had NO FEVER. They said they would temp all employees and i’ve only been temped once in months. 😐
TC’s manager (whenever he decides to work) ALWAYS walks in and around the building without a mask or wearing it around his neck. It makes sense why TC does nothing to make sure employees are safe. He’s an anti-mask/herd immunity believer.
They released another “statement” but if you don’t click the link you’ll never know that a bartender was tested positive. They NEVER notified employees know about this and they never let us know whether or not the other bartenders were sick as well.
They have these signs around the building but once your past the hostess stand they DO NOT enforce this policy. Literally hella people walking around without a mask or people just forcing themselves in and they are still being served by TC bartenders.
Aight to conclude this thread, DO BETTER THE COLLECTIVE. Your employees lives matter and the concerns of the businesses should be heard. Stop allowing dumbasses to walk in w their shirt covering their mouth. 😐 and here’s how you should wear ur mask Chris. 🥴😴
