A few final thoughts on today.

I enjoyed the game, a much improved performance from Wolves. I won’t focus on the negatives, I think the vast majority of Palace fans on twitter have already highlighted them & it’s frustrating it’s a month or so of the same.
The positives:
- Scott Dann is a leader & never lets us down.
- Kouyate, a warrior & playing him at the back allows him to bring the ball out. He’s also mobile to recover when needed.
- McCarthy, he’s horrible & I mean that in a lovely way! Niggly all game off the ball.
- Schlupp, we’ve really missed him for most of this season. Gives us pace & a little bit of guile from midfield.
- Last but not least, Mitchell, got better as the game went on. Offers width going forward & clearly learning his game. Great to see his development.
The biggest positive of today, the season is over. Hearing City players talking about being mentally exhausted, I see no reason why ours aren’t physically & mentally knackered. By the next time the boys run out at Selhurst I hope they’re fresh & the squad has been added to.
12th September, Premier League football returns. We’ll be without PVA, Cahill & no doubt a few more. It’s really important that we have some fresh faces ready to go by then. I think we can all agree we need the squad age lowered but also the right mentality.
As for us fans, barring disaster fans will be back in the stadium but I think we can all guess that it will be a severely reduced capacity. Every club is going to have to make some tough decisions on how tickets are allocated, only thing we can guarantee, people will be unhappy.
One final thought, don’t get too stressed about transfers, in my experience the press make so much up. We miss out on very few players we actually go for. You can’t control it so don’t get too wound up. Look after your mental health. Stay safe.

Much love Carl.
