I open a thread of weird things of the 2000s cycling that we thought were totally fine.
The most obvious yet still most unbelievable one, Mario Cipollini crazy skinsuits
Another must in the 2000s era? TT helmets that looked like condoms, no matter in which side you were, helmets were a loosing point
Bleached hair were a thing, and cool, at least if you were Italian
19 years later after Laiseka win, I realized it was Pays Basque, not Euskadi
Sunglasses were all so small and ugly, but you could wear a total pink kit at Tour de France
Tour operators were often sponsors and serving the best jersey, and really durable riders
Celebrations were something else
Jerseys were full of sponsors, some were something else
At the beginning of the new millennium Cadel Evans became the first Aussie to wear Maglia Rosa, and hopefully the last to wear those pants
Let's not forget how long and efficient trains in the 2000s were, unless you were Robbie McEwen and you could win with just one teammate, if that, and yes, he used to wheelie in green before being Sagan was a thing
