A thread of some of my favourite ever Brendan Rodgers lies.
Telling 1500 people at a Q&A that Celtic legend Danny McGrain had approached him shortly after Rodgers’ appointment to ask if he’d still have a job.

McGrain was made to stand up in front of the audience.

He later stated the conversation never took place and he was mortified.
The Clyde Tunnel incident.
Rodgers claimed after Rangers 5-1 win over Celtic that he was persuaded to take the job by Pat Bonner.

Pat Bonner has no recollection of that conversation ever taking place.
Patsy the Brendan Rodgers superfan.
Claimimg to have beaten off Real Madrid (and 24 other clubs) to sign Charly Musonda, who wanted to sign him after running the show against them.

Musonda had never played against Real Madrid.
Claiming to have named his son Anton, after a Celtic centre back from the 1980s, Anton Rogan.

He went as far as including Rogan in his Greatest Ever Celtic XI when asked to compile one by the club, to the confusion of almost everyone.
Taking Pepe Reina out for a meal and assuring him the signing of Simon Mignolet was just for extra competition in goals.

Reina was sent out on loan two weeks later.
Stating he will “give his life” for Leicester City.

He could still surprise us with this one I guess, but I can’t see it.
