You know, I don't believe in or think people should practice tribal politics. I believe that politics should be about policy and performance. And a large chunk of performance is how one presents oneself. Andre Haughton is a brilliant economist whom I had very high hopes for 1/2
2/2 but over the last year, I dont know what sort of cognitive malaise has overtaken the Opposition senator. All of a sudden the man has transformed frm a meticulous and savvy economic commentator to a wild, political loose cannon, whose ego seems to have expanded by 1000% of GDP
Now, I am not interested in tearing down Senator Haughton. But I have 3 concerns about this flier. As an accomplished scholar (of which he loves to boast), you seriously type BORNED? You dont know the name of the constituency? Why is this so chakka chakka? You never review it? https://twitter.com/EbanksLorenza/status/1287188106312069120
Now, anybody can make a typo. But there is the graphic designer, the reviewer, and HIM. That's 3 people this thing pass through. Nobody never read it? This speaks to a level of disorganization which is quite frankly unbecoming of a Rhodes Scholar and senator.
Finally, I dont think of myself as a bad mind person so I am a bit hesitant to comment on this but oh well. I am not sure how listing all those extraordinary academic accomplishments will influence neutral voters in West Central St. James. This is not a resume for the IMF boss.
When you say you are telling your constituents about yourself, dont start listing all your academic feat. They need personal information. Tell them how you struggle. Share a bit of family life. Tell them which high school you went to. Tell them how your car leff u a road wah day.
It hurt me soul 2 c promising man like Damion and Andre get swallowed up by this kind of mentality n behavior when them join a certain political party. And I wasn't really gonna go here, but suffice it to say, incidents like these seem to happen more on one side than the other.
