i wish people understood how rapists minds work. you can't understate the depravity of men. 'man goes into bathroom and rapes woman' isn't the only possible scenario. some men get off just by being around vulnerable women. they get a thrill from making us uncomfortable.
some men go into women's bathrooms to masturbate. some go in to chat with women about 'girly things' - because it turns them on. some put cameras in toilets. some steal used pads from trash cans. some - like yaniv - want to approach little girls and 'help them insert a tampon.'
men can take sexual advantage of women and girls without ever touching us, because they get off on watching us, listening to us, and invading our privacy. agps fetishize everything about women, every moment of our lives.
and this isn't even addressing the opportunistic nature of paedophilic rapists. people don't understand that paedophiles aren't TV serial killers - they don't always spend weeks stalking a victim before attacking them. they'll hurt a child of left along with them for -
literally five minutes. i think a man leering at little boys in men's public toilet would be easily removed and intimidated, but what about male paedophile watching girls in a female bathroom, protected by self id, ready to cause a scene about transphobia, waiting?
women and girls deserve to be protected from these kinds of predators too. we deserve the right to force any man to leave women's spaces immediately. 20 years ago this was all common sense, but now our safety is on the line because the privileged young adults of the world -
want to pretend men aren't a danger to women, that they never lie, and that rapists don't see the whole world as their sexual playground, and every solitary woman and child as a target. we have actual real data that single sex facilities reduce rates of sexual assault.
that means that the consequence of losing our single sex facilities will be more sexual assaults on women and girls. women and girls have to be infinitely more vulnerable because a tiny percentage of men are, ironically, scared to use male toilets. women werent consulted.
