What Zayn Malik went through- A THREAD
Both as a solo artist and as a former 1D member Zayn has faced racism and islamophobia. He has spoken out multiple times about the whitewashing we had to deal with while in 1D. He had ZERO input on the music. The music he wanted to make didn’t go with one direction and therefore
didn’t get a say. Any ideas he had about incorporating the r&b style was rejected. He was also forced to wear varsity jackets and was airbrushed to appeal to white teenagers. The 1D management also went above and beyond trying to ask interviewers to not ask him about his religion
However this did not stop the disgusting islamophobia. In 2013, a song called “Zayn Did 9/11” was released by an artist called “Uma Kompton” and it is still on spotify. Add all of this injustice to Zayn’s anxiety and eating disorder and their hectic schedules.
Zayn was breaking apart and the poor boy hid it so well that not even the 1D boys realised. I am positive Zayn loves the boys, he just had a tough experience in the band. And people still wonder why he didn’t post. Yes, he got famous in the band but he DOES NOT OWE us anything.
. This boy has been through a lot and the media still to this day portrays him as the “bad boy villain”. I, as a fan am tired of it. Imagine how exhausted he is. So lets shut down the people that are upset over him not posting. He is happy, he is having a baby and we love him.
