With this current wave of repression against the Black liberation movement it's good to remember that redbaiting has always been a part of fascist propaganda.

Anticommunism is a permanent fixture in capitalist media because it justifies repression. Whenever oppressed people get organized they're designated as communists because that gives the state and racist vigilantes an "acceptable" excuse to target them.

And the thing is there are obviously communists in any liberation movement because communists should support and play an active role in liberation struggles, but that doesn't mean the movement as a whole is Marxist.

But a message for the non marxists in the movement is not to play into the fascist game by distancing themselves from marxists. That has historically made it easier for the state to repress and coopt liberation movements.
