Jürgen Klopp. A thread.
Jurgen Klopp means a lot to me. I speak about him a lot; not just because of who he is and what he has achieved, but also because of what I believe he represents.

Jurgen Klopp represents the holy trinity of football. He represents the head, the heart, and the soul of the game.
I like to call transfers 'recruitment'. A club isn't buying a shiny new player, it's identifying and recruiting an employee to join the team, play their part, and elevate the group. Another, better, necessary cog in the machine. I like to think Jurgen Klopp sees it that way too.
Jurgen Klopp identified and recruited Lewandowski, Gundogan, Robertson, Hummels, Subotic, Reus, Salah, Mané, Piszczek, Kagawa, Keita, van Dijk, Alisson.

He promoted, nurtured and championed academy players Sahin, Gotze, Alexander-Arnold.

All became world-beaters. All champions.
Jurgen Klopp knows what must happen. He has his blueprint, his plan, and the plan is key

Players must fit, and be willing to work for the system. The system is the centre of the universe. If the player fits, the player flourishes. The good become great. The great become the best
Intelligence is at the forefront of Liverpool's operation. Data drives recruitment, decisions must make sense. Every step Liverpool FC have taken along their 5-year path with Jurgen Klopp has made sense.

From the system to the players to the inevitable success; it made sense.
Jurgen's heart is as big and as infectious as his bellowing laugh

He puts everything into his team, and expects everything back. No half measures, no half hearts. All or nothing. Fights and unforgettable nights, tears and jeers, love and loathing; football teams become families.
Families stick together. They pull each other through the hard times; they carry each other on their shoulders in the good. They cry and they celebrate, console and elate together.

They come together, no longer a group of talented individuals, but a powerful unit. All for one.
When a team comes together, fighting for a common goal. When the roles are understood, not just in the head but in the heart, the team goes beyond talent. It becomes formidable

The team dominates a league. The team overturns 3 goal deficits in Europe. That's a team of champions.
The emotions and sincerity of the heart are nothing without the context and meaning given by the soul.

Jurgen Klopp is collectivist by default. Not a management style or football philosophy, it's just who he is. Fortunately, collectivism in football happens to work immaculately.
Derided and mocked by supporters and the tabloid press for 'celebrating a draw with West Brom'. Klopp was celebrating his supporters. He was bringing the players and fans together. All for one. The 12th man joining its brothers on the pitch. One for all

They're not laughing now.
Liverpool's full of soul. Many parts of Northern England, through various historical, social, political and economic factors, are full of soul. Go there and see. It's undeniable.

Jurgen Klopp knows and understands it, he is kindred to it, it's him. As good a fit as you will find
From the modest but packed stands at FSV Mainz' old Bruchwegstadion, to the Yellow Wall at Dortmund, to the famous Kop at Anfield; where Jurgen Klopp goes, the soul soon follows.

Or perhaps where the soul is, Jurgen Klopp follows.
He could work for any team, Jurgen Klopp. No team in the world would turn their noses up. The success is tangible, the man is loveable. Tireless hard work, passionate love of his trade, the CV impeccable. But he won't work for any team. Just a select few. The soul must be there.
Brain and heart and soul make the man; the man makes the football team.

That holy trinity is what makes the game so special.

The brains bring the intelligence and the complexity, the heart brings the passion, and the soul brings the mysticism, those wonderful unquantifiables.
Jurgen Klopp brings the brain, the heart, and the soul.

He reminds us that this game - which can make or break a mood, which can ruin a weekend, can cause a fight then evoke pure unadulterated joy within half an hour - is a condensed, concentrated, powerful reflection of life.
Liverpool fans, it's tough to explain how fortunate you are to have this man at the head and heart and soul of your club.

The successes are obvious, but he's more than that. He's a good man. A special man. Make the very most of this time under Jurgen, this is your time to enjoy.
