why would you want to use Cluster API with a managed Kubernetes service?

idk i'll reply to this tweet eventually and tell y'all why
(i actually have a bunch of reasons but want to save the rant for later)
in a world where your underlying infrastructure can be totally homogeneous, i think the CAPI abstractions could be overkill - but on the container platform teams i've been on this dream has quickly been crushed by reality.
"deploying to kubernetes" is unsolved. i'm sorry. it's unsolved. as soon as workloads start to get even slightly complex, your dev teams need to start caring about the YAML. we aren't actually ready to hide kubernetes from our dev teams yet. maybe someday.
