This week at #ATDU:

#ICYMI Sprint 1 Light Cav Jan-Mar

With the deployment of @LDLightCav confirmed we’re ramping up support.

We’ve been working with a GREAT British company @Petards and their “Eyecraft360” product. (1/4)
(2/4) the #ATDU were investigating Eyecraft360 as an aid to improve vision for the commander and driver of the ‘dead zone’ that can’t be seen immediately around the vehicle.

This is a vital part of ground appreciation, route selection and to prevent accidents/incidents.
3/4 #ATDU and @Petards got curious about further applications.

Here we used our own site to see the camera as a situational awareness and threat detection tool in an ‘urban canyon’ context for the crew and dismounts.

It provided vision on to rooftops as well as blind spots.
4/4 #ATDU and @Petards then explored the camera as a dismounted situational awareness tool for armoured or mechanised infantry dismounts.

The camera pan and scan is controlled from a ruggedised tablet and available to turret and dismounted soldiers to spot targets and hazards.
What we believe in is bringing together the voice of the soldier (here’s the problem or help we need)

suitable products from industry and

expert instructors and trial managers to create innovation.
