For @AdamCrigler

This is an amazing era. Virtually nobody understands the strategy that @realDonaldTrump is using.

It's straight out of Sun Tzu's The Art of War
Let's start with poor Bellingcat.

The guy misuses the word "bellwether."

A bellwether is an indicator of a coming trend.

Bellingcat is trying to say "pilot study."
What's funny is that @Timcast is exactly right:

The press is totally confused.

THIS IS BY DESIGN.

To be fair, everyone except for you and I are confused. You've figured it out by intuition.
"The operation has involved the Department of Homeland Security’s Rapid Deployment Force."
No such unit.

Yes, the regional director of the Federal Protective Services (FPS) used that term, but no such unit exists.

He hasn't been reading DHS press releases, so the screwup is his fault.

Next:
"The team of camouflage-clad federal agents who have prompted alarm and criticism by snatching individuals from the streets of Portland appears to be a 'Rapid Deployment Force' that is part of the Department of Homeland Security-led operation..."
"...based on information the force’s commander submitted Tuesday night in connection with one of several lawsuits challenging those practices."
So Politico say that the regional Federal Protective Service director is commander of a unit that doesn't exist.

Next:

ABC actually read the DHS press release.
"'I have directed the deployment and pre-positioning of Rapid Deployment Teams (RDT) across the country to respond to potential threats to facilities and property,' said DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf."
AHA!

So we have multiple Rapidly Deployment TEAMS that were prepositioned before July 4.

D'OH!

They were already in Portland.

As I told everybody.

They were doing surveillance and gathering intelligence.
Who are the Rapid Deployment Teams?

New York Times says THIS:
"Officers from Customs and Border Protection, the Transportation Security Administration, the Coast Guard and Immigration and Customs Enforcement who back up the Federal Protective Service, which is already responsible for protecting federal property."
Coast Guard!

Those would be Tactical Law Enforcement Teams (TACLET) and possibly the Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT).
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) would be Federal Air Marshals.

AGAIN, Trump is using personnel nobody considered.
And Immigration and Customs Enforcement is Border Patrol Tactical (BORTAC).
To sum up:

The Rapid Deployment Teams were positioned before July 4. Trump sent them three weeks ago.

They're using personnel who don't leak.

The fed leadership isn't being told the tactical details.
This is the new model for the armed forces, which is why James Mattis had to be fired.

Mattis wanted tactical details so he could leak them.

Our military leadership has been a disgrace for decades.

Now they're kept out of the loop.
You saw the Portland videos.

There was nothing illegal about any of it, so the press shouldn't be allowed to know the details.

The whole thing is #FakeNews.

BUT LOOK HOW BRILLIANTLY TRUYMP IS PULLING IT OFF.

Yes, he knows exactly what he's doing.
We have 1000+ federal tactical teams.

As DHS said, THEY'RE ALREADY THERE.

And nobody knew.

@TedWheeler had no idea.

And Lightfoot of Chicago is cooperating behind the scenes.

Trump doesn't want public humiliation; he wants SOLUTIONS.
As long as crime is stopped and lives and property are saved, I don't care what these ridiculous mayors say about Trump.

The election is in the bag. The Democrats are running on a platform that enforcing the law is illegal.

They're sunk.
I have no idea who this woman is, but these kinds of videos were unthinkable three years ago.

Now they're commonplace.

All is well.
