Our nation has fought many wars, many have fallen , many have survived and have told the stories, but Kargil war is one of the most discussed wars in our history.

There are many reasons why the Kargil war happened.

Some Reasons of #KargilWar in this thread

2/ Background:
The clash between the then prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and Army Cheif Karamat was increasing on daily basis, in one meeting Nawaz Sharif insulted the army chief and then in anger, Gen Karamat resigned even before his time

3/ So, to fill his void, Nawaz Sharif appointed his close aid Parvez Musharraf as Army chief avoiding other two contenders who were the line to become the next army chiefs. Many of the ministers weren't happy with this decision but couldn't help but to follow orders.

4/ The irony is later on Parwez Musharraf took entire control of the army sidelining Nawaz Sharif. Parvez Musharaf, without taking consent of prime minister appointed his close aid Gen Muhammad Aziz as the head of ISI-Pakistani Intelligence service

5/ He also appointed Gen Muhamad Ahmed as the head of X Corps pakistan,a divison of army which was active in Kashmir region Parwez Musharaf was indireclty taking each and every decision sidelining the president

6/ At times when Pakistani Govt officials were busy in making necessary arrangements for the meeting that was going to be held between Pak PM and Bharat PM Atal ji,Gen Parwez was busy with his colleagues to launch an attack on the kargil sector.

Operation Badr:
The attack that was going to take place on Kargil was codenamed as "OPERATION BADR" by Parwez Musharraf. Following were the objectives of this mission:

1. To change the LOC which was to the north of Jojila Pass
2. To destroy the transportation system that goes on a national highway connecting shrinagar-kargil-leh which goes through this area.

3. To heat up the Kashmir Issue on the world scale again and blaming us for violating the human rights.
4. To capture the turtuk,(a village located to the south of Iyok River,Ladakh) which is considered as one strategical point in terms of surveillance and protection.

10/So,the entire plan was ready,and Pakistani army personels were to be dressed as Jihais and carry out the attack.
Under the leadership of Major General Javed Hasan In April 1999,Operation Badr was to be executed.

In summer,when the glacier started melting and highway was open for transport,"OPERATION BADRA" started.

Blind Spot:
Nawaz Sharif in one of his statements said that he didn't have slightest hint that the OPERATION BADRA was being executed,but the fact was he was given details about this was in December 98 and again in Jan 1999.
But,to save his face he was playing safely.

12/ The prime reason for this war was the alreading escalating tensions between Bharat and Pak In 1999,when we tested our second strategic ballistic missile "AGNI-2", the Pakistani officials started whining like babies and started critizing us on irrelevant topics.

13/ One of the officials said,that India is violating the human rights of Kashmiris while others said,the army is illegaly taking over the the glacier region and what not,but it was all to escalate to war.

14/ It was the belief of the Pak Army Cheif Parvez that Pak will win the war.

On more and most imp reason being Pakistani's wanted to capture the Siachin Glacier

15/ Siachin Glacier is ahead of Ladakh in Karakoram mountain ranges,considered to be one of the most strategically important locations.

16/ According to the agreement made in 1949 between Pak and Bharat, Ponint NJ9842 was the northernmost demarcated point of the India-Pakistan cease-fire line known as the Line of Control and Pakistanis gave ceded over their part to China in 1964.

17/ After the 1971 was,our Army didn't post any army officials at pont NJ9842 and taking advantage of this thing they started showing this region as part of their own in their official maps

18/ Agreeing to this some nations agreed that this region is Part of Pak and Pak got a bit powerful.

So,1984 Our army decided to teach lesson to Pakistan and posted some units of army in this area and Pak again started using the victim card...

19/ THE KARGIL WAR must take place was first proposed by Gen Mirza Aslam Beg in 1989,but this plan came into action in April 1999.

Pakistan had lost number of times to Bharat in the past,in 1971 it had to face a humiliating defeat, to take revenge of all these…

20/ …things,Pakistani's made a vicious move of killing Kashmiri's and started blaming it on the Our army again claiming the violation of Human rights by Bharat.

21/ But all these things were not helping Pakistan and out of frustration they made a move which they didn't knew would lead to another defeat in near future....

22/ For the first time on On May 3rd the news that Pakistani's have crossed LOC and are hiding in kargil fell on the ears of army officials and the war started.....
