Want to be more creative?

The Art of Thought by Graham Wallace changed my creative life. Here you will learn the 4 stages of Creativity. The way I use them. It's my take-away from the book.

I hope it empowers you.
Let's begin. (Visual Thread)
Preparation

You need to look around. Anything interesting?

Write it down.
Sketch it.
Record it.
Steal from everywhere.

The more out of your domain the better. This is called Lateral Thinking. Imagine yourself hunting.

Hunting for interesting.
Incubation

If you're like me and you like to stay in the flow, this will be challenging.

Whatever you're working on, drop it. Gently. Allow yourself to go and do something else you enjoy. Allow yourself to rest.

Try having fun. Feel guilty? Don't. Trust the Process.
Illumination

You're further along. You've prepared. You've rested. Good for you. You have allowed your mind to do it's thing.

Make connections.

The answer will present itself when you're ready to see it.
Like a cosmic gift.
Verification

Go and test your thoughts and ideas. How do they measure up? What form do they take?

Try things.
You've now learned my biggest take-away from The Art of Thought.

You're equipped to form new thoughts.

Remember:
To know the process is to love the process.
To love the process is to trust the process.
