First off both have a scar on the left side of their face that they got by one of their parents.
Both get banished from a Kingdom/Pride soon after getting scarred.
Both are told at a young age that they need to capture/kill someone important in order to be respected by their parent.
They later don’t do this and become allies with this person/lion.

Both get guided by an old spiritual man that tries to help them with their love life.
Both are gay but accidentally fall in love with their girl childhood friend.

Both save their childhood friend/love interest lives. Zuko saved Mai from a burning apple and Kovu helped save Kiara from a crocodile.
