can we talk about the misogyny that comes with fast fashion shaming? timothee chalamet has been praised to the high fucking heavens for wearing walmart shoes but people tried to ruin ashley’s (best dressed) whole career for taking a sponsorship from a fast fashion company? when
that’s literally part of her job and a majority of how she makes money?? not to mention how the same people who fast fashion shame are clearing out thrift stores (which are the only option for a lot of people) for the even slightly trendy or cute items of clothing. you need to
shut up. im serious. if you want to stop fast fashion then come after the actual companies and the laws that are in place that enable them to keep those problematic practices in place. you can go vibe with your $300 dollar white reformation t shirt if you want, but stop pushing
other people to do the same. also we can get into how it’s almost impossible to know if these companies are actually sustainable AND ethical. but i’m not going to do that now. just stop it.
i shop sustainably like 70% of the time, because i have the funds to. i’m irrelevant to this thread though.
