This is a little booklet put together by Maori Affairs back in the 60s
There are 14 pages.
I'll post a few excerpts one at a time as I realise you may need to let things set in before moving onto the next 'gem' đŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž
Page one
How to be a good neighbour
Seriously 🙄
Painting a house in the 60s (if you are Maori)
Painting a house:Part 2
Painting rainbows - woops - I mean Painting Houses
I'm running out of witty (sarcastic) descriptions so please (....insert here....)
Just in case you didn't get it the first time - let us reiterate how vital it is to keep your section tidy and please - don't be lazy
Let's talk rubbish now

Btw you still with me? Hanging on in there?
I know....it's quite tiring isn't it? Yes we've had to endure this for a whole thread! Geez imagine putting up with it for a lifetime 😳
How to use a toilet. Please remember large crowds could lead to toilet troubles
There are pages more but I'm getting tired with this booklet so two more and then I'll close it
There were some pages dedicated to safety
and by the way have a slight headache
Obviously the illustrator did not research Maori well.
We don't wear shoes inside our home

Rookie🙄
I had the opportunity to ask the woman pictured why she was in the booklet "What were you thinking?"
She didn't realise the photo was to be used in this way
Her home was always spotless, she had an amazing garden, her children were always well behaved and
well dressed.
Both her and her husband were hard workers who kept the house tidy and painted white 😊
They never had parties and they helped their neighbours out

The woman pictured is my mum
A Maori

She didn't need the booklet
