I have been immersed in the EU-UK " negotiations".
I have given up responding to the eejits.
They don't know what "level playing field " means.
So...quickly.

For an Irish business to sell, to a German business, free from tariffs or quota, it must have the same standards, same legal structure on subsidies and state aid. (level playing field). Ireland pays for the privilege as a member.

UK demands same access but rejects the standards, rejects the legal framework, rejects membership fee.
UK wants what a member has without any of the constraints or costs . 3/4
THIS is what we, the EU hate.
We cannot sign a legally binding deal with a country that keeps saying " we will not follow your rules but we want you to bind yourselves in law not to apply tariffs even if we undercut your businesses "
That IS what Britgov is asking.
