She’s not modeling this pervasive, toxic notion we all grew up with that the only way to survive being a woman in the world is to learn to shrug it off when men are shitty to you, as though patriarchy is just this immutable force like gravity or the weather
And the Right hates her because she is absolutely going to be President one day and there is nothing they can do about it, they keep trying to eliminate the threat by discrediting her but all their Feeble White Grandpa weapons just bounce off her armor (remember the DANCING)
For a lot of these men, AOC may be their first encounter with this whole generation of progressive young Americans who they can’t scare or threaten, because the old white conservative establishment has literally nothing they want so there’s nothing to threaten to take away.
they’re trying to cheat at checkers, the way they do with everyone else, and which they’ve been allowed to get away with for centuries, and AOC is over here like “Connect Four, motherfuckers” and they’re like WTF THAT’S NOT EVEN THE SAME GAME WE DON’T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THIS
