Only 9% of @EquityUK members voted for their new committee. Ballot papers were within the quarterly magazine. Are members engaged with the magazine or just recycling it?
Are the members to blame for being lazy and disengaged? Or are the communications simply not strong enough for a union in 2020? Is it serving a dated take on engagement with today’s industry members? Did you even know papers were in the mag?
We have to present some solutions to be better. Some new ideas. 91% of members have disengaged. 40% haven’t benefited from any government funding schemes during this pandemic. We need to unite fast before we lose it for good.
The period of reopening is a dangerous time as members will want to be in work and producers MAY be less inclined to take risks or able to offer as much stability. We need to stay committed to rights we have fought for and remain strong.
So how can they do better? What do you want? What changes do you want to see? If you didn’t vote - why? What will make that change. Is the magazine and diary working for you? X
