I left my abusive family at the age of 18. I've worked ever since. Never asking for handouts. I've worked warehouses, for tax agencies, retail, broadcasting, advancement, moving furniture across the country, etc. I did what needed to
be done. My grandmother convinced me to move back home when my grandfather got too sick for her to care for. My grandmother was a terrible woman to my grandfather even when he was well. Worse when he couldnt defend himself. He eventually passed away.
She made sure to take everything from his Will and insurance then put me out on the street. That's when I learned money will make people you think love you turn on a dime. I was homeless for 2 months after that. I made $200 a day working my online job I would have to sit in a
parking lot with wifi just to manage. It was during June and July. I was living out of a car. Food is more expensive homeless. Sleeping properly, taking a shower, and eating all become luxuries. I worked my ass to fight addiction, starvation, and insanity. It was by the pure
grace of God and through the spirit of my mother I made it out of that dark place to where I am now. In those 2 months I learned how badly we treat people. I've seen first hand how the system keeps people down and caters to the rich. I refuse to allow my struggles to keep me from
working to keep others from having to. I lived through it first hand & cant understand how so many people justify their selfishness. I was giving to others as I was living on the street so there is absolutely no excuse for how we treat people. This is why I will keep speaking up.
