Mask orders, vape bans, etc., fall into this category.
Why mandate masks? Sure, it could theoretically slow the spread of a virus. But mandating their use without an ironclad study is arbitrary.
Why ban vape flavors? Sure, flavors might entice kids but why hurt adults?

We live under the worst sort of tyranny. Some would call it anarcho-tyranny but I don't think the term really hits. You have leadership and you have a state.
I call it arbitrary authoritarianism.

It's arbitrary because there is no real reason for the laws. And it's a tyranny for obvious reasons.

When the government intrudes into your life for no reason, you're in dangerous territory.
It's cruelty for cruelty's sake. It's the weaponizing of the state against the citizenry. For no discernible reason either; these politicians don't crave power or believe in anything.
