Senior Labour frontbenchers are furious at the state the party has been left in by Jeremy Corbyn and former officials.

The worst case scenario is that claims could cost Labour several million pounds.

(However, the suggestion of it nearing £8m is firmly disputed)
As one frontbencher told me: “The question now is how deep is the hole the Labour Party has been dug into by Corbyn and his acolytes.”

A second shadow cabinet minister said: “This is the Corbyn legacy. People should be angry.”
