I love the underlying abolitionist message of #ACAB, but "bastard" as an insult is part of a long racist, sexist, anti-poor history of stigmatizing people with unmarried parents.
In the US, this stigma against unmarried parenting has been explicitly anti-Black, with illegitimacy laws used after Jim Crow to exclude Black children and families from programs and services.
Clinton's 1996 "welfare reform," which worsened poverty for poor women, people of color, and immigrants, centrally mobilized the idea that there is something wrong with unmarried parenting and that unmarried parenting caused poverty.
Liberation requires us to abolish police, prisons, borders, and militaries, and also marriage as a legal status that privileges those who organize their sexuality and reproduction according to state norms and punishing those who don't.
That means taking the word "bastard" out of our vocabularies as an insult, and opposing the stigma attached to unmarried people and their kids. More on how marriage is an anti-poor, sexist, racist institution here: https://bit.ly/3hq0TOk
