ਜਾਣਹੁ ਜੋਤਿ ਨ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਜਾਤੀ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जाणहु जोति न पूछहु जाती आगै जाति न हे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸੂਦ ਵੈਸ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਚਹੁ ਵਰਨਾ ਕਉ ਸਾਝਾ ॥
खत्री ब्राहमण सूद वैस उपदेसु चहु वरना कउ साझा ॥
Kẖaṯrī barāhmaṇ sūḏ vais upḏes cẖahu varnā kao sājẖā.
The four castes - the Kshatriyas, Brahmins, Soodras and Vaisyas - are equal in respect to the teachings.
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸੂਦ ਵੈਸ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਚਹੁ ਵਰਨਾ ਕਉ ਸਾਝਾ ॥
खत्री ब्राहमण सूद वैस उपदेसु चहु वरना कउ साझा ॥
Kẖaṯrī barāhmaṇ sūḏ vais upḏes cẖahu varnā ka

चारे वरन आखै सभु कोई ॥
Cẖāre varan ākẖai sabẖ koī.
Everyone says that there are four castes, four social classes.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥
ब्रहमु बिंद ते सभ ओपति होई ॥२॥
Barahm binḏ ṯe sabẖ opaṯ hoī. ||2||
They all emanate from the drop of God's Seed. ||2||
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥

ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਘੜੈ ਕੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
बहु बिधि भांडे घड़ै कुम्हारा ॥३॥
Baho biḏẖ bẖāʼnde gẖaṛai kumĥārā. ||3||
The Potter has shaped it into all sorts of vessels. ||3||

Pancẖ ṯaṯ mil ḏehī kā ākārā.
The five elements join together, to make up the form of the human body.
ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਕਾ ਆਕਾਰਾ ॥
पंच ततु मिलि देही का आकारा ॥
Pancẖ ṯaṯ mil ḏehī kā ākārā.
The five elements join together, to make up the form of the human body.

ਚਹੁ ਵਰਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
चहु वरना विचि जागै कोइ ॥
Cẖahu varnā vicẖ jāgai koe.
Of the four castes, whoever remains awake and aware
ਚਹੁ ਵਰਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥

ਜਮੈ ਕਾਲੈ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੫॥

Jamai kālai ṯe cẖẖūtai soe. ||5||

जोगी ग्रिही पंडित भेखधारी ॥
Jogī garihī pandiṯ bẖekẖḏẖārī.
The Yogis, the householders, the Pandits, the religious scholars, and the beggars in religious robes -
ਜੋਗੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੀ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ॥
जोगी ग्रिही पंडित भेखधारी ॥
