[A Thread] I’ve been getting this a lot this week. I’ve debated addressing it. I probably shouldn’t.
But here I am. I’m going to post this once and I will not discuss or argue about it. https://twitter.com/shades_941/status/1286337323861528577

13 years ago, as a fan, I made a decision to turn on a camcorder and talk about some He-Man figures in my collection.
Over those 13 years, this turned into something so much more. Toy companies saw what I was doing, and began reaching out with opportunities.

I started making connections and friends with other websites and within the industry.
I began traveling to shows, walking around and introducing myself, handing out business cards, proving myself, showing what I could do.

It didn’t happen overnight. I’ve put in a lot of time and a lot of work.
I know that receiving samples automatically puts me in a different category . I know that it immediately invalidates my opinion to some people. That’s fine. I accept that and I understand that.

But what you see as “a free toy” I see as hours of work. Don’t get me wrong, it’s work that I love doing – I never would have started this if I didn’t have a real passion for this industry.
