{Thread on the phrase “In Jesus Name” 🧵}

Jesus said “Ask anything IN MY NAME and I WILL do it” (John 14:14) but I then pondered and thought I don’t actually always receive what I pray for when I pray “In Jesus Name”

People will often say that it’s because it’s not His will...
But then there are situations where people are sick and in need of healing, you lay hands on them and they don’t recover but Jesus said in Mark 16:18 “if you believe, when you lay hands they will recover”

So what’s going on 🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️...
I’m here to shock you but let me land 🥺

*cough* saying “In Jesus Name” in your prayer does not get you answered prayers 😬

I know it’s mad but I’ll explain...
The name “Jesus” did not exist when Jesus was alive. In fact the letter “J” did not exist

Jesus’ name back in 0-33AD was actually “Yeshua”

“Yeshua” translated to English actually means “Joshua” 😬😬
The name Jesus actually came from the Greek translation of Yeshua: “Iesous”...
So you see here if Jesus actually meant “when you pray saying in Jesus name, I will do it” then really and truly we should be saying “In the name of Joshua” 😬😬😬 (if we are taking things literally)

So I know you’re probably thinking “What is this waffle?” But I’ll explain...
If I send you to the shop “In My Name” what that actually would mean is I’m sending you to the shop “In My Place”.

When you go to the shop, you’re representing ME. In a sense you are me 😂

So how can we apply this to what Jesus said in John 14:14...
We know that as believers we have become ONE with Christ. Christ is in us and we are in Christ.

Our POSITION is now IN Christ.
Christ is the Son of God and by being in Him, we too ARE sons of God

So praying “In Jesus Name” is not about the words. It’s about the POSITION
By being in Christ we have become joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), we’ve been given the power (the right) to be sons of God (John 1:12), we can call God our Father (Romans 8:15).

This is our position in Christ. You ARE a son of God. You MUST believe this...
It’s not about saying “In Jesus Name” when you go to pray, it’s about understanding and BELIEVING your position in Christ. YOUR IDENTITY

When you truly believe in your identity in Christ. You can go into prayer boldly, knowing that you are a son simply approaching your father...
Jesus never begged. He believed and knew who He was and who He was approaching, His Father.

When Jesus was in lack, He thanked the father and blessed the food because He knew His Father had Him.

This is the SAME mindset we MUST have as believers. MUST.
YOU AND CHRIST ARE ONE. We have been predestined to conform to the image of Christ. We are supposed to replicate Christ. THAT is the height of Christianity; when you walk as Christ walked.

He is IN you. Working THROUGH you.

You HAVE TO believe this.
I’m not saying don’t say “In Jesus Name” when you pray. Please before anyone crucifies me. All I’m saying is you must understand your position in Christ when you go to pray.

When you understand your position, it boosts how much faith you have in God...
Jesus said to the Father “I know you hear me always”

This is the mindset and the faith we MUST have when you go into prayer and when asking God

God loves you. You are His son. You and Christ are ONE. Christ lives and works through you

Believe this. Acknowledge this. Live this.
If anyone has any questions feel free to message me
I’M NOT SAYING STOP SAYING “IN JESUS NAME” OOO 🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️

Please don’t stop. Just know and believe your identity when you say it 🙏🏾
