Because it's popping up again, "keep drawing" lazy and bad advice and greatly downplays the process of improving you art ability, and just defining your craft in general. So I'm gonna make a thread sharing tips on how you can improve as an artist.
1) Don't force yourself to do something in an uncomfortable manner

Make sure to work inside your comfort zone. Forcing yourself out of it, especially when you don't need to, will impact the final product.
2) Experiment

While this might seem like it goes against 1, what I mean is that you should explore your options. There might be an easier way to get something done, or a certain method that improves your work's quality.
3) Always be prepared

Jumping into a project only to find you don't have the skills or resources to complete it is a huge nono and can drastically decrease motivation. Stick with what you can do and only take on projects when you are ready.
4) Note your ideas

Sometimes you might not have the time or resources to make a certain piece. If so, note the idea somewhere for later, especially if you are like me and have a lack of object permanence.
5) Set goals

It's way easier to improve when you have an idea of where you want to be. Found an artist that draws way better than you? Instead of beating yourself up about it, try to use their art as a goal marker and work your way up.
And lastly 6) Take care of yourself

You health; both physical and mental; is by far the most important thing in art. You can't do art if you don't have the ability to due to self neglect. Don't push yourself, and always put your own health above all else.
