The conversation REALLY needs to change when it comes to people exposing themselves for saying AEW has a bad women’s division, when that’s extremely inaccurate.
When they started, an incredible majority of top independent talent, let alone females, were already signed to WWE, Impact, NWA, ROH, etc.

Unfortunately the business has historically been more closed off to females and the talent pool is much thinner from the start
But they took about two dozen females from across the world with Brandi, Allie, Kong, Priestley, Baker, Shida, Statlander, Bates, Rose, Ford, Riho, Shanna, Gibbs, etc. to create the best, diverse division that they thought would fit their mold
Within 5 months of trying to get their first ever to show up and running, we’re in a worldwide pandemic where they can no longer use their international talent.

Coupled that with injuries of top US workers like Kong, Statlander, and their female talent pool is quite small
They transitioned to bringing in some available SE talents for tapings like Abadon, Anna Jay and ended up signing them to deals
So doing the best with the limited tools they had from the start, handling a worldwide pandemic, and continuing to adapt and make progress is every positive sign that a logical person would need
But if you don’t think that in 9 months, they’ve made absolute stars out of Riho, Shida, Swole, Reba, Baker, Nyla, Statlander, you’ve lost your mind

Most of those girls all had less fanfare than most of the guys out of the gate & have absolutely outshined their male counterparts
