Here's a short thread on why it's important you share local media reports of last night's #PortlandProtest, the 54th major demonstration since late May. Mayor Ted Wheeler is the police commissioner. That's why protesters were so hostile toward him.
He's been largely criticized for the police bureau's use of tear gas and pepper balls on crowds until recently, a practice he condemns federal police for using.
