An early leader for the team name was the Seattle Metropolitans. But in peak NHL fashion, that didn't fly. (2/4)
I reported a while ago that Seattle was exploring red and black as its team colors, and thankfully that changed. But seeing as how many NHL teams have some shade of blue in their logos, the Kraken got creative: (3/4)
Finally, kudos to @NHLSeattle_ for keeping the Kraken name and colors under wraps for as long as they did. (And to all the reporters that kept their lips zipped on it yesterday so as not to spoil the fun.) Here's how they flooded the zone with some red herrings.
