If schools are going to open this Fall, Test Iowa has to get better. Did you know that if you live in SE Iowa and you qualify for a test today, you would have to wait until MONDAY to get tested? That’s a four day wait.

So if we are in school, that’s at least a three day wait for staff and students. Not to mention they have to shut their lives down and their family members lives until they find out if they are negative or positive.

Increased testing is part of the solution for schools to have any shot this Fall. Staff and students get sick. It will happen. We need immediate results. We can’t pause learning for four days because the state of Iowa is incompetent in testing.

The White House can get results in 15 minutes. We are five months into this and we are still waiting for four days to even get tested. Once you get tested, some people are being told it could be up to 10 days before you know your results.

The longer we ignore the testing issue, the more difficult it will be for schools to have any success in mitigating a COVID positive response. Let’s get it right NOW. We have one month. The clock is ticking....
