Another boot heavy notice served with less than a working day before the survey! @NorfolkCC are once again intent on endangering the pups of rare bats by trapping them at a time when they are still likely to be lactating or pregnant.
We have asked @norfolkCC time and time again to DELAY trapping until after August 15th, but seemingly this has fallen on deaf ears (they aren't even polite enough to acknowledge our letters).
It is difficult to understand what is going through the heads of the ecology contractors, @WSP_UK uk & @DWEcology, who are supposed to apply the precautionary principle when to comes to risk involving protected species. Something very odd is going on.
@WSP_UK uk & @DWEcology! Have the council not passed on our messages? We will welcome you, if only you would delay just a few more weeks until after August 15th.
@NaturalEngland @NENorfolkSufflk need to act now, just as they did two weeks ago, to apply a restrictive date to the licence they have issued to prevent harm. Nothing has changed and the bats are currently still at risk if trapping proceeds tomorrow night!
