I had an old football assistant coach in high school who was an ex-Marine.

One of the players had just muttered "man this practice is hard" under his breath.

The coach heard it and told us to huddle around.

He then proceeded to give us the wildest speech I've ever heard.
He asked us,

"You think playing football is hard?"

We all looked at him like... what is this guy's deal?

He then looked us in the eyes and said,

"Do you know what it's like to look a man in the eyes right before you pull the trigger and end his life?"
At this point we had not expected this to escalate from

"Damn we don't want to do sprints"

To

"Have you ever ended a man's life?"

He wasn't done...

"Do you know what it's like to take away a father and a husband from his family?"

Keep in mind we were like 16 years old.
What was his point?

Although his delivery and exact story may have been... a bit extreme and tone deaf

His point was that EVERYTHING can be reframed.

We were complaining about running around in the grass and playing ball.

This wasn't real hardship.

It was a blessing.
Look at the things in your life that you complain about.

Are they real hardships or are they blessings that you are taking for granted?

Reframe everything positively.
