Thread 1/4. Whether Conservatives want to admit it or not, all of this started with Charlottesville in 2017. After losing a Federal court case which granted "Unite the Right" a legal permit to hold a rally in Lee Park, the mayor of Charlottesville & the Governor of Virginia-
-deputized ANTIFA to attack & drive them out. The method for giving ANTIFA the upper hand, was an issued stand down order from the Mayor/Governor to local/state police. Once the fighting started, they declared the rally an unlawful assembly, which gave them license to force the-
-attendees to run an ANTIFA gauntlet. Instead of condemning the Mayor/Governor's Banana Republic action, of using paramilitaries to get what they wanted, Conservatives cheered the violence/lawlessness against the dreaded "White Nationalists". This became the template for cities-
-& states across the country to attack/stifle unfavored free speech. Now the tactics of Police standowns, followed by BLM/ANTIFA attacks have been normalized. If Conservatives had stood for free speech/assembly(no matter the speaker)3 years ago, this all could have been avoided.
