Last thing of the morning & then I’m logging off—
There’s a doc on Netflix right now called “Fear City” about the battle to take down the NY mafia in the 70s. The 1st episode is actually a good analogy for understanding the difference b/w individuals & organized systems. 1/

The mafia was highly organized & that’s the primary reason it was difficult to unravel any of their criminal enterprises. Bosses were insulated from daily criminal activity on the street & if any low level associates were arrested & prosecuted, they were quickly replaced. 2/
This is a very similar dynamic to the highly organized nature of the white supremacist capitalist system. Removing killer cops, for instance, is equivalent to arresting a low-level associate. It does little to disrupt the overall operation b/c they are easily replaced. 3/
In order to topple the mafia, legislators, investigators & prosecutors had to develop a new law (R.I.C.O) that allowed them to prosecute criminal conspiracies and draw connections/culpability between the actions of low-level associates & the money that flowed to the bosses. 4/
Am I comparing white supremacy to a mafia-like enterprise where police are the low-level associates & those who empower them are the mafia bosses & that in order to topple it we have to dismantle the whole enterprise?
Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying. Have a great day.
