Do you remember when the Bundy family took over a federal building and property because they didn’t want to pay their grazing fees? They pointed loaded guns at federal officers. Somehow they weren’t beaten, gassed, or shot at.
The federal officers dealing with that weren’t unidentifiable, dressed in military gear. Right wing media hailed them as “patriots” and that sentiment was parroted and amplified by their right wing audience.
Trump even pardoned the Hammonds who set the fire that started the whole thing.
Now we have unidentifiable, jackbooted goons dressed in camouflage gassing and beating protesters, snatching people off the street with no just cause, throwing them into unmarked vans to be taken to another location for interrogation because graffiti was sprayed on a building?
This isn’t about federal property. This is about trump inciting violence to try and bolster his low polling numbers. It’s also meant to distract from the monumental, catastrophic failure of leadership that is his coronavirus response.
This is trump’s Reichstag fire. He is wagging the dog by waging war on his own citizens. The same people who hailed the Bundys as patriots are excusing beating, shooting, gassing & abducting protesters as protecting federal property.
Suddenly, the normally vocal small government, states rights, anti tyranny crowd is all for the federal government violently over throwing local state and city governments and violating multiple constitutional rights of American citizens.
