as i recall, Remainers would have accepted (albeit grudgingly) a soft Brexit all the way up until 2019; by that point it had become clear that the referendum had been won undemocratically and we'd seen untold damage to the economy and a spike in hate crime. fuck this, we thought.

idk maybe people blaming "Remainers" for Brexit actually mean the Remain MPs, who under Corbyn's whip voted against soft Brexit time and time again and then the Change UK lot voted against a customs union at our last chance to get one. us proper Remainers didn't want any of that.
