The #Amaze2020 virtual space has been designed from scratch and built just for this 2020 edition! There you can watch talks, attend performances, see videos, hang out with friends or random people and also download and play the incredible nominated games.
Once you arrive inside of the building you have a lot of indications on where to go while keeping it exciting to explore. There is also the festival code of conduct on the well and some instruction on "how to play/navigate" the space. Simple and clear.
This morning the opening was made by the program curator @zoewi & the festival director @ST0RN0. It was well attended by visitors (as you can see from the screenshot, we all are pink flamingo). We don't have much interaction available, but you can throw confetti all around you!
The program is full of incredible speakers and topics, even if you are not directly from the indie game field IMHO. This morning I've listened to @kayodedesign's talk about representation & bias in digital games.

The exhibition area is nice and there is access to trailers for each nominated games. Videos are triggered when you are close to it, and only for you, so there are no constant noises of multiple audios played in the environment. Kudo to the curators and the architects!

The traditional "open screen" spot still exists and that's really cool! It makes a lot of sense to have such open format available in a digital context. It's an opportunity for any dev to be able to showcase their prototypes and creation to the scene with no (or less!) pressure
They even thought about a merch shop and donation area that you can found at the main entrance of the building. When I tried to check it, it was not working, but maybe it's just not open yet? I'm curious to see what kind of merch will be offered for this digital edition!
While you are moving & exploring around, you can still have access to the talk or panel that is currently streamed. You can change the audio output in the parameters.
Also you can make all the flamingos (visitors) transparent so they don't block your view if there are too many

A Maze Festival exists for more than a decade now and if you have attended it in the past, you know there is a lot of references and "classics" which go around... The legendary fire truck open sound system by @Sosowski is one of them for instance (why that angry look btw? :p)
There is also a few hidden stuffs to find and collect, but I won't tell you what so you can find them by yourself if you explore the space or watch other people interact around. I'll just poke @adrielxyz because I've kicked some watermelons while listening to a talk this morning
I'll end by a shot of the "outdoor garden" where you'll be able to read the names of the Kickstarter supporters of this crazy edition. I can only imagine how much work it has been (and it currently is) to hold it. You've all my love & respect!
