"The current study found very strong and consistent evidence that bisexual men do in fact tend to have bisexual arousal patterns," noted study author J. Michael Bailey. "There is no longer reasonable doubt."
Where the hell did this “reasonable doubt” come from in the first place?? Oh that’s right – from heterosexuals and homosexuals who can’t conceive of anything outside of their own experience, because that’s SCIENCE.

This can also be phrased: “Bisexual men should *always* be marked with great skepticism for no other reason than it makes us *super* uncomfortable that such a paradigm may actually exist.”
Oh, and also: We don’t believe we are, we *know* we are. (Just FYI.)

I love this “self-misunderstanding” term. “I’m sorry, but bisexual men can’t be left to their own devices in the interpretation of their own sexual arrousal, because that would be *crazy*.”
Side note: Anyone who thinks men coming out as bi is somehow “easier” than claiming to be gay or straight have no understanding of the social and relational persecution bisexual men face when we do.
Skepticism of female bisexuality -- though not the focus of the latest investigation -- has largely been more muted, Bailey noted.
It’s been more muted because men fetishize bisexual women, so that’s totally cool and really doesn’t require any skepticism or scientific study.
"People who identify as bisexual -- especially men -- are often viewed with suspicion, and this includes a perception that they won't commit to being gay," she said.
Because we really don’t want to piss off the insecure gays out there and make them feel somehow slighted by the fact that homosexuality is somehow not enough for us.
Last one: "Our results suggest that even most men who say they are equally attracted to men and women have some preference for one or the other sex," said Bailey.
Another way to phrase this: “Um, yeah, even after all this, we still don’t totally believe you.
