I was unplugged from the violence last night to spend time with my family. I am saddened to wk up to the news of a person killed last night. This now makes the 123 homicide of the yr in less than 7 months. Indy is in a public safety crisis & it now requires all hands on deck.
I am thankful for the very good meeting with @IndyMayorJoe @IMPD_Chief this wk with the #TheCityOfPeaceCoalition. I am meeting today with Indiana State officials about the violence in Indy. On Friday Faith & Community Leaders will be meeting with Vop Osili Council President.
A few days ago I did speak with @VP about the surging violence in Indy & nationally. I have also spoken with @GovHolcomb @SenToddYoung. I hope to speak with @RepAndreCarson @SusanWBrooks @SenatorBraun. This violence problem requires that we all work together to end this madness.
