I fail to understand why acknowledging Trump as president is grounds for firing.also, I thought cancel culture didn't exist? https://twitter.com/KyleKashuv/status/1285594816265543680
Trump is president is a literal fact. Let's apply Contra's cancel culture tropes here. This dude's comments were abstracted as "He made a racist comment" under the implication that everyone who supports Trump is racist. Than, by essentialism, we get "He is a racist"
And ofc racists are vile human beings who do not deserve to have jobs, right? This is how you justify firing the dude over saying Trump is president.

Let's discuss the idea that Trump supporters are all irredeemable racists. The problem here is that Trump supporters are
Over 62 million people. In order to change the president, you must get some of these people to vote for Joe Biden (or Bernie Sanders, or Elizabeth Warren, if they were the nominee.)

What is the thought process behind calling every Trump supporter a racist? It's essentially this:
Trump has made racist comments, therefore he must be a racist, therefore anyone who associates with him in any way (votes being the most common way), is a racist as well.

This is guilt by association - another common trope of cancel culture.
One might say that associating with someone who has bad takes is one thing, but voting a racist for the president of the United States is a different thing as you end up endorsing racist povs as an acceptable standard for the US president and it hints on your own racism.
Fine, all the Trump voters are racist. Now, as Biden or Sanders need these voters to win, this must mean they re racist as well. After all, if a racist votes you for president, it only means your policies make racists comfortable enough! Now, any Biden voter, also becomes racist
For voting for a person who the racists have also voted for, which very likely includes the person who cancelled this teacher in the very first place! I do not believe that everyone involved in this teacher's firing doesn't vote.

Congratulations! Every American voter is racist
By the idea of guilt by association.

What's the solution? Simple: do not take association with a racist as proof of their own racism. However, this means this person is unfairly cancelled and this also means that not all Trump voters voted for him because they're racist.
Unfortunately, this line of thinking requires that you try to analyze the grievances of non-racist Trump voters. Doing this could show they are very economical in nature. This means you have to actually try and improve the material conditions, which threatens your class privilege
It is much simpler to say all Trump voters are racist!
