I know expectations as a football fan change on a regular basis, but there isn’t a Chelsea fan alive that was expecting them to be 4th and in a cup final a year ago today.

And you’ll get some smart wankers giving “yeah but the league is poor, Tottenham this Arsenal that” but you can only beat what’s in front of you.

And I know we’ve been poor defensively (putting it mildly) but we’ve also put in some really really good performances at times this season. Both attacking and defensively.

So over all I’d say this season, given the transfer ban and Hazard leaving, has been a success. Lampard won’t be given the same room next year for his mistakes this year and nor should he, but don’t forget this is his first season at the top too and he is learning all the time.
