He’s not wrong. I’ve seen so many people fail at it. While being ‘motivated’ by the success of some of the people that the media is showing. https://twitter.com/1obefiend/status/1285936757419028482
I went into streaming full time without actually thinking that I could make a living out of it. I just had some saving and wanted to take a shot at it for a year or so. I’m getting old so I thought “hey, it’s now or never”.
If i had failed, I knew it was going to ve a good experience for me and i knew I was going to have fun. The first 6 months was rough. Trying to grow an audience while not being too awkward talking to these viewers.
I had to get out of my comfort zone. Streaming 10-14 hours a day. Back then it wasn’t common to donate money or even subscribe to game streamers. We had to rely on sponsors aaaand even that was really paying the bills.
*wasnt paying. But I had fun growing myself. The streams became more of a sharing session and a community.
It was up to 6 months before I ever saw any kind of hope that this would be sustainable. Alhamdulillah.
After that it was all about treating your brand/channel as a business. Grow it like how you would a business.
I remembered how i got ‘roasted’ on Twitter because I posted this. A lot of my streaming peers also took a jab at me back then. I actually cared about the quality if my content but I was a nobody, so most of them laughed 😂😂😂
If you’re starting out now, good luck. Make sure you have a plan. It is so easy to stream nowadays so make sure you are able to integrate it into your life and HAVE FUN!
