Main reasons that have come up are parental pressure to focus on education/career, more masturbation, sex with new partners is bad/painful partly because of porn imitation, dating apps not favouring the majority.

And engagement in hook-up culture dithers:

Hook-ups makes sex more anxiety-provoking and doesn't fit into many long term goals for intimacy so lots of people want no parts.

1 in 5 have sex 3< per year

Body confidence issues was a reason that also came up.
