Who are the Uyghur "activists"? A thread.
Erkin Alptekin, son of Isa Alptekin pic2 a Pan-Turkic nationalist and ex-KMT official, fled XJ in 1949; grew up in Kashmir and Turkey. After uni in TR, he worked for Radio Free Europe then directly for CIA. In 2004, he became the founding president of the World Uyghur Congress.
Omer Kanat left China for Afghanistan in 1979 and then went to Turkey and Germany. After education in TR & DE, he worked at the RFE Tajik. In 1999, he moved to the U.S. to work for RFA Uyghur. In 2003, he left his U.S. government job to found the Uyghur Human Rights Project.
Where do most of the evidence of persecution of Uyghurs come from? It comes from Adrian Zenz, a German Christian theologian(who doesn't speak Chinese or Uyghur) working at the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, an organization established and funded by the US Congress.
Adrian Zenz's reports are full of errors and distortions. Here's just one example discovered by a Twitter user. https://twitter.com/marauder1008/status/1283626205359542272?s=19
Of course, don't forget about Rushan Abbas, the founder of Campaign for Uyghurs which claims China imprisons 3 million Uyghurs! (which is every Uyghur if you excludes the old and young; eveyone of the 200 million annual visitors to XJ can tell you it's a blatant lie)
Rushan Abbas was a founding member of the Radio Free Asia Uyghur Service. In 2002 she began working as an interpreter for the Pentagon at the notorious Guantanamo Bay prison, translating for the Uyghur militants in US custody.
Terrorism is hated in Xiniang. After a terrorist attack in Hotan that killed 37 people, more than 30,000 ordinary people, mostly Uyghurs, took out sticks and joined the police to catch the attackers.
In 2014, the three seperatist extremists stabbed Juma Tayir, the imam of China's largest mosque in Kashgar, to death, causing outrage among people in Xinjiang. Instead of condemning the violence, the US-backed World Uyghur Congress accused the imam of being pro-China!
China's Xinjiang policy is supported by the majority of the Muslim countries, Shia, Sunni and Ibadi, democratic and authoritarian, religious and secular, and multiple key US allies including UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain.
I’m not claiming there’s no injustice or abuse in Xinjiang. But saying there’s a genocide or even mass detention (many people who receive reeducation go home everyday) is giving into US propaganda and outright lies from extremely dubious US government-sponsored sources.
Using Western standards, every country in the Global South can be qualified as a human rights abuser. The weaponization of XJ is meant to serve as a justification for starting a new Cold War with China, to sabotage China's relations with the Muslim world & preserve US hegemony.
In Xinjiang, out of the 1.6 million Communist Party memebers 38.6% are ethnic minorities. There are 2 Uyghurs 1 Kazakh in the CPC Central Committee. Ethnic minorities serving as state leaders is a tradition since the beginning of the PRC.

Are all Uyghurs abroad anti-China? Certainly not. Here's the Ex-Chinese Association Pakistan representing Uyghurs living in Pakistan. @ExChinesePak1
Wanna know what Xinjiang is really like? Join the 200 million Chinese and 400 thousand foreign visitors each year and visit XJ after the epidemic is over! XJ is my favorite destination in China! You can experience a blend of Chinese and Central Asian culture like nowhere else!
And please spare me of Uyghurs being deported by trains to concentration camps bullshit. You are just so brainwashed by the media or just straight up ignorant about China; you'll believe whatever outlandish lies these liars told you about China! https://twitter.com/Truth2Upeople/status/1284853788155629569?s=19
