What is your favorite tactic a character uses in a film to achieve their goal?
An often ignored reason for why we love characters is because of the creative tactics they use to overcome obstacles.

I read amateur scripts five days a week for a living. One of the most common issues is their characters don't use creative tactics. #screenwriting
Think about your favorite character. Sure you have plenty of reasons to love them.

Their look. Their personality. Their backstory.

But I bet what makes them truly stand out are their creative tactics and meaningful choices.
Kevin, the 8 year old genius with endless creative tactics.
Dr. Grant using the flare to distract the T-Rex.
In this sequence from Get Out we see Chris use one creative tactic after another to overcome obstacles. Pool Ball as a weapon. Cotton in his ears to avoid hypnosis. Goring Dr. Armitage with the antlers.
